Services of Worship
The Ancient Chapel of St. John the Baptist provides a daily and weekly round of services, from Common Worship, under the direction of the Master who is, at present, Canon Roger Williams SSC. These are:
Sunday
- 8.30am. Holy Eucharist
- 10.00am. Solemn Eucharist
- 6.00pm. Solemn Evensong and Benediction
(1st Sunday of the month)
Weekdays
- Monday to Friday: 9.00am Founders' Prayers.
- Monday to Thursday: 9.15am. Holy Eucharist
St. John's Chapel, the chapel of the Hospital, has stood firmly, since the Tractarian Revival, within the Catholic Tradition of the Church of England, and regularly draws a substantial congregation of both residents and visitors. At Christmas, Easter and the other Seasons we observe the traditional Catholic rites and ceremonial.
The Bishop of Lichfield is President of the Hospital and Visitor.
